If you’ve been visiting blogs lately (including mine) and I’ve noticed the increasing trend of blog spam. Especially on my site, since I show comments on the right hand side. Well, it was getting really annoying. I installed MT-Blacklist to help me remove the offending comments, but I seem to have problems getting the override mechanism to work so it automatically removes spam. I figured most of these spammers were targeting Movable Type installations and going after the mt-comments.cgi page. I renamed my page and we’ll see how that changes things. It should at least break their ability to find my site by just looking for my comments page.
