In case you are in a hole…
and you are only reading this site, then here’s some news for you. Saddam Hussein has been captured in a hole near his hometown of Tikrit. Maybe we’ll get Osama for Christmas. Hopefully this will let Iraq move forward, since they can’t go back to the government they had before. More importantly, I hope it brings our soldiers home from the front lines sooner.

Escape from Boston
Yara and I went up to Boston for her job interviews and ended up staying around for the worst December storm in Boston’s history. It’s nice to be around for those historical disasters. It snowed a little over two feet. It was fun to have a white Christmas for this Southern boy.
I got a chance to visit the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. It’s a pretty amazing place and if you get a chance to go you should. Part of the building has been designed by I. M. Pei, a famous modern architect. The exhibits really fascinated me. The two I really liked were the modern furniture exhibit and some artist’s selection of important works. The modern furniture really showed the evolution of artisan furniture. Additionally, there were pieces of artisan furniture all around the museum you could sit on, which was even cooler. The artist selection was cool It showed the breadth of the MFA’s collection and how American art differs from European art. Apparently, American art is more experiential and story based, whereas the European art is just more plain artistic and able to stand on its own without a story with it.
Anyways, I have a ticket for the museum that is good for a revisit for a year. So, if anyone wants to have a free ticket to the MFA, send me an email and I’ll mail it to you. Sorry I don’t have a pair. It’s enjoyable for one person too.

Star Wars KOTOR – beaten
These days, I don’t play a lot of games to their finish. I just don’t have the continuous amount of time to play as I used to. This is why I pretty much switched from playing RPG style games to action games that I can pick up and play real quick. I think there may be a trend in this as a lot more RPG games have taken to having smallerr missions that play into a larger overall style. However, over the Thanksgiving break, I managed to finish Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. It was a great game that had a lot of twists in the plot. It was actually better than the new Star Wars movies. I finished as a goody goody Jedi. My brother is playing as a Dark side jedi. He’ll probably finish it over Christmas.

Ants on the Atkin’s Diet?
A while ago we had a small expeditionary force of ants invade our house. They weren’t withdrawing despite taking heavy casualties upon being discovered. They were nothing if not persistent. We tried conventional chemical weapons upon them, but didn’t seem fazed over time. Then I tried an old trick I learned from somewhere. I put coffee grounds at the point where they were invading the house (the back door in our case) and waited for more squads of ants. Apparently, these ants didn’t like fully caffeinated coffee which led me to think that my ants are either Mormon or on the Atkins diet which doesn’t allow caffeine. Either way, they haven’t come around any more. Once again, I am victorious over lower life forms. Go me.
